Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Coinly at coinlyfinance.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Coinly is a multi-asset, multi-currency finance management platform. Features include account tracking, transaction categorisation, receipt scanning, budgeting, bank connections, reporting, cloud backup to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, asset sharing with other users, and AI-assisted tools. Features may change, be added or removed over time.
3. Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use Coinly.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms.
- Upload malicious code, interfere with security features, or probe for vulnerabilities.
- Scrape, copy, resell or redistribute content without permission.
- Provide false, misleading or fraudulent financial data.
- Use the AI features to generate content that violates law or third-party rights.
- Abuse free-tier limits or attempt to circumvent rate limits or quotas.
See also our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Data & Privacy
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. You retain ownership of the financial data you input. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process and display that data solely to operate the Service for you and any users you share an asset with.
6. Third-Party Integrations
Coinly integrates with third-party services you choose to enable, including Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Enable Banking, GoCardless Bank Account Data and Salt Edge. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. You authorise Coinly to access them on your behalf through the OAuth or PSD2 flows you complete. You can revoke access at any time from Settings, or directly with the provider.
7. AI Features
AI-powered features (receipt scanning, category suggestions, lifestyle categorisation, chat) send the content you submit to upstream model providers via the Lovable AI Gateway. Output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it. AI output is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
8. Cloud Backups & Restore
When you connect Google Drive or OneDrive, Coinly writes a folder of backup files (Excel workbooks, receipt images and a JSON snapshot) into your own Drive and keeps the live folder plus a rolling set of dated snapshots in sync. Restoring overwrites matching records in your Coinly account; you are responsible for the consequences of running a restore. Files in your Drive remain yours and are not deleted by us when you delete your Coinly account.
9. Shared Assets
You can invite other Coinly users to an asset and assign them a role. Invited members can see and (depending on role) modify data in that asset. You are responsible for who you invite and for revoking access when it is no longer needed.
10. Subscriptions & Billing
Some features require a paid subscription. Fees are charged in advance for the billing period you select and are non-refundable except as required by law or under our Refund Policy. We may change pricing on prospective renewals with prior notice.
11. Administrative Data Access
Coinly's operator has technical access to your data solely to operate, maintain, secure and support the Service (e.g., resolving support tickets, investigating bugs, responding to security incidents, or complying with legal obligations). The operator commits to:
- Treat your data as strictly confidential and not share it with third parties except as required by law.
- Log every administrative access in an internal audit trail.
- Notify you by email when an administrator views or modifies your records, unless prohibited by law.
- Use the minimum amount of data necessary for the task at hand.
Automated system processes (such as scheduled bank synchronisation or cloud backups) are excluded from these notifications, as they do not constitute human access.
12. Intellectual Property
All software, designs, logos, trademarks and content provided by Coinly remain our property or that of our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while these terms are in effect.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, security risk, fraud, non-payment, or repeated policy violations. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; export your data first if you want to keep it.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure or error-free operation, nor that bank-sync, AI or backup features will always be accurate or available. Coinly is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. You are solely responsible for decisions made using information in the app.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coinly's aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental or special damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Coinly against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit that infringes third-party rights or applicable law.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Coinly operates. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
